Copyright Policy

The short version:

Only share recipes, photos and text you have the right to share.
If something on Gusteau uses your work without permission, tell us and we'll look at it promptly.
If your content was removed by mistake, you can send a counter-notice.
Accounts that keep infringing are closed.

Respecting Others' Work

Wyzie LLC respects the rights of writers, cooks, photographers and brands, and expects people who use Gusteau to do the same. Recipes you share by link or put on a Recipe Board must be yours or shared with permission. You can bring recipes into Gusteau for your own cooking; before you share one you brought in from a website or a cookbook, make sure you have the right to. This policy follows the United States Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) and is part of our Terms of Service.

Reporting Infringement

If you believe something on Gusteau infringes a copyright you own or are authorized to act for, send a notice to our copyright agent (below) with:

your physical or electronic signature;
the work you say is infringed (or, if there are several, a list of them);
the material on Gusteau you say infringes it, with a link or enough detail for us to find it;
your name, postal address, phone number and email address;
a statement that you believe in good faith that the use isn't authorized by the owner, its agent or the law;
a statement that the information in your notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorized to act for the owner.

When we get a complete notice, we'll remove or disable the material promptly and tell the person who shared it. Sending a notice that knowingly misrepresents that something infringes can make you liable for damages, so check first, and consider whether the use might be fair use. Notices may be shared with the person who posted the material.

Counter-Notices

If your content was removed and you believe it was a mistake or that you had the right to share it, you can send our copyright agent a counter-notice with:

your physical or electronic signature;
the material that was removed and where it was before;
a statement, under penalty of perjury, that you believe in good faith it was removed by mistake or misidentification;
your name, address and phone number, and a statement that you agree to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your address (or, outside the United States, any district where Wyzie may be found), and that you'll accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We'll pass the counter-notice to the person who sent the original notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they've filed a court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after we received the counter-notice.

Repeat Infringers

We close, in appropriate circumstances, the accounts of people who repeatedly infringe others' rights.

Trademarks and Other Rights

For trademark concerns, or anything else that uses your name, brand or likeness without permission, write to the same address with the details and we'll look at it. The Gusteau name, the chef character and the Gusteau logo are Wyzie's; please ask before using them.
